1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the RFTB (Ready For The Badge) website, mobile experiences and any training course or service you book through us ("Services"). By creating an account, making a booking, or otherwise using our Services you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Services.
RFTB is operated by RFTB Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales. References to "we", "us" and "our" mean RFTB Ltd; references to "you" and "your" mean the person using the Services.
2. Definitions
- Course means any training programme, workshop, refresher, mock exam or other learning product offered by RFTB.
- Booking means a confirmed reservation for a Course made through our platform.
- Candidate means the person attending a Course (this may or may not be the person who paid).
- Training Partner means the SIA-approved delivery partner or instructor we engage to deliver a Course.
3. Account Registration
To make a booking you must create an account with accurate, complete information. You must be 18 or over to book SIA-licensed training. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that takes place under your account.
Tell us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
4. Booking & Payment
When you place a Booking, you make an offer which we accept by issuing an email confirmation. A binding contract is formed once we send that confirmation.
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. Prices may change at any time but the price applied to a Booking is the price displayed at the moment you complete payment.
We accept all major debit and credit cards via our payment processor (Stripe). RFTB does not store card details. Payment is required in full at the time of booking unless we have separately agreed alternative terms in writing.
5. Course Delivery
Courses are delivered at the venue, date and time confirmed in your Booking. We may engage SIA-approved Training Partners to deliver Courses on our behalf. Where we do, those partners must meet RFTB's quality standards and remain accountable to us for delivery.
We reserve the right to substitute trainers, change the venue (to an equivalent within a reasonable distance) or amend the timing of a Course where operationally necessary. We will give you as much notice as practicable.
6. Attendance, ID & Eligibility
To attend any SIA Course you must bring:
- A valid photo ID (passport, UK driving licence or biometric residence permit)
- Proof of UK address dated within the last 3 months (utility bill, bank statement, council tax letter)
- Confirmation of your right to study/work in the UK if relevant
You must arrive on time and stay for the full duration of every day of the Course. Persistent lateness, absence or disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the Course without refund.
7. Cancellations, Transfers & Refunds
- More than 14 days before the start date: full refund or free transfer to another date.
- 7-14 days before: 50% refund or a free transfer to another date.
- Less than 7 days before: no refund, but you may transfer to a future Course at no charge subject to availability.
- No-shows: no refund and no automatic transfer.
To cancel or transfer, email us from the address associated with your account. We aim to confirm changes within one business day.
8. Pass Guarantee
If you attend every day of a Course in full and fail an exam at the end of it, you may retake that exam free of charge within 6 months. The Pass Guarantee covers exam retakes only; it does not cover SIA application fees, DBS check fees, or travel.
9. SIA Licence Applications
RFTB delivers and arranges training. The SIA licence application is a separate process administered by the Security Industry Authority — we are not responsible for SIA processing times, decisions, fees or any outcome of an application.
10. Intellectual Property
All course materials, branding, lesson content, exam questions and platform code remain the property of RFTB or its licensors. You may use them only for your personal learning. You must not copy, redistribute, sell or otherwise commercialise our materials without written permission.
11. Conduct on Site & Online
While using our platform or attending a Course, you agree not to:
- Harass, intimidate or discriminate against staff, trainers or other Candidates
- Bring weapons, illegal substances or anything that endangers others to a Course venue
- Share your account credentials with anyone else
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
- Reproduce or distribute exam content
We may suspend or terminate access to the Services and remove you from a Course for breaches of this section, without refund.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RFTB's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Services is limited to the price you paid for the relevant Booking.
We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
13. Complaints
If something goes wrong, please tell us. Email us with the subject "Complaint", your booking reference and a clear description of the issue. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 business days and resolve them within 14 days.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be flagged on our website and, where relevant, communicated by email. The version that applies to your Booking is the version in force on the date you made it.
15. Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of England & Wales. The courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
16. Contact
